Derrek Anthony Millbrooks entered this life on January 29, 1982 as the third child born to Tony Millbrooks and Yolanda Taylor in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He professed a love for the lord at an early age and was baptized at the Hovey Street Church of Christ in Indianapolis, Indiana.

 Derrek started his education at William Watson Woolen School #45 in Indianapolis, In. He later attended Arsenal Technical High school also in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Derrek  was a loving and generous individual who often visited the elderly and the sick and shut in. He would also try to be there for anyone in their time of need. Derrek also made sure that he tried to attend the funeral of those who had passed and pay his respect to their families.

Derrek also had a passion for cooking and worked many years in the food industry as a cook until 2007 when he was stricken with several major illnesses. He endured these illnesses, battling them diligently until his time of death.

Mr. Derrek Anthony Millbrooks departed this life on September 28, 2017 at the age of Thirty-Five years, Eight months and Twenty- Eight days. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Willie and Mildred Woodruff; Ned Millbrooks and Catherine Millbrooks-Belton and his stepmother Peggy Sue Millbrooks.

Derrek leaves all that will cherish his memories, his father Tony Millbrooks, mother Yolanda Taylor(Stephen). Brother Eric Parks (Tameka). Sisters Zakita Blades (Ronald Jr.) Tabitha Millbrooks, Jennifer Faulkner. Nephews Darrius Ballard, Da’Monte Blades, Jamiere Blades, Joseph Pierson Jr. Nieces Araya Jones, Tashae Conway.
